Fraunhofer Cingo is the latest breakthrough technology from the worldwide recognized audio experts at Fraunhofer IIS. The engineers and scientists of the Institute’s Audio and Media Technologies division have been working in audio coding for more than 25 years. During this time they have invented mp3 and co-developed AAC (Advanced Audio Coding), as well as many other visionary technologies for today’s and tomorrow’s media world.
Today, innovations from Fraunhofer IIS are to be found in almost every tablet, smartphone, PC, TV and radio, as well as many other consumer electronics devices. Fraunhofer estimates that it has enabled more than eight billion commercial products worldwide.
